Social Whale Profile & Search
Social Whale, the Greek service which aims to bring closer the most important social networks (such as Facebook ant Twitter), introduces its two new branches: Social Whale Profile and Search.
Social Whale Profile
The Profile service brings on one page the activity of a member in social media. It can be connected with Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube among others. By the time a user gets connected with Social Whale, he can access his settings page and add networks. He can also add a photo, write a short bio and add his personal websites.
porcupine colors took care of the user interface of Social Whale Profile. Our main priority was to keep the profile page clean and easy to be used. That's why we divided the main area into separate sections. The top one includes the personal details of each member. The left column shows the stream of updates which have to do with text. The right column reveals photos and videos.
At the same time we wanted this page to be engaging. This is why we added several non-intrusive design elements such as shadows and rounded corners. Furthermore we prepared five different color schemes on the same layout of the page.
All in all we believe that the Social Whale Profile can be a useful corner of the Web and it can be used in different ways according to user's needs. All members of Social Whale team is quite happy with the final result and that's great.
Social Whale Search
Along with Profile comes the Search service. This one takes advantage of the power of social media and brings in results from all important networks in real time. To use the service you don't have to be a member of Social Whale. Just add the search term and press Enter. In seconds you'll get tweets, Facebook updates, photos and videos which include the term you provided.
Again, we approached design having in our mind that it should be very simple but not boring. We created the main and the results page based on the layout of Profile service. This way the user interface remains clean and at the same time we remind a user who is behind all this.
Just like Profile, we do believe that this service could be important for all kinds of possible Web users.
